Joyce Lamb Photo by Tim Loehrke I was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois. That's about 90 miles outside Chicago. I've lived in the Washington, D.C., metro area for 10 years. Booklist called my first novel, Relative Strangers, "a rollicking ride full of blazing passion, non-stop suspense and heart-pounding action," which is very much like my real life. My second, Caught in the Act, was nominated for a RITA award (the romance-writing industry's Oscar) in the romantic suspense category. I drew extensively from my own experience as a journalist for that book ... except for the parts about murder and mayhem ... well, except for the parts about murder. I drew on none of my experience for Found Wanting, except for the mention of copy editors near the beginning. Both Caught in the Act and Found Wanting were honorable mentions in the Daphne du Maurier contest by RWA's Kiss of Death suspense chapter. |
