Pseudonym: Mike Cooper.
Michael Wiecek's novel EXIT STRATEGY (2005) was hailed by Lee Child as "a fantastic debut - as smart as a whip, as fast as a bullet." Mike sold his first story, "The New Lawyer," in 2000; it was subsequently anthologized, and won a Derringer Award in 2001. His second story, "The Good Daughter," was nominated for a Shamus Award by the Private Eye Writers of America. He went on to publish numerous other short stories before beginning THE OUTSIDE MAN, which was shortlisted for the PWA's 2004 Best First PI Novel award.
Mike grew up in Missouri and spent several years in Asia. He has worked as an ambulance medic, Tokyo salaryman, Massachusetts bureaucrat, construction laborer, and financial manager. He now lives outside Boston with his family, and is a stay-at-home dad for their two preschoolers.
